When Paul visited a town, he didn’t ask the people there to support him.  He found a side job and earned enough to pay his way.  Here’s what he says about people who don’t want to work:

Apparently the Church wanted to know when Jesus was coming back…they thought it was soon.   Here’s what Paul told them.

Sometimes when you look for “gems” you have to dig.  In this chapter they are laying all over on top of the ground.

As I suspected yesterday, Paul was about to make a powerful statement about the Christian life.   Here it is:

I didn’t think there was much to comment on in this section, but when I started to jot a few notes, here’s what I discovered:

Work your fingers to the bone, meet great resistance and eventually be run out of town.   How would you describe that?   Paul calls it success.
