The events recorded in this chapter are so gruesome, you wonder why anyone would want to read it.

If we only had John’s Gospel, we would never have known what really happened.

Instead of a normal reflection, let me try something different today…

The large crowd was so angry with Him that they wanted Him dead, even though He had done nothing wrong.   That used to seem strange and incredible, but it’s becoming a reality here.

It was the worst thing that humans have ever done on the face of the earth, but it turned out to be the best day we ever had.

Any time I want to help someone understand how Christian community works, I include this passage.

I have been a Christian for many years, and have attended hundreds of sermons, but I never really understood the significance of this event until recently.

Once you understand how grapevines produce, this passage take on new meaning.

What could possibly be so important in this chapter that I would mention it at every single funeral I have ever done?
