I don’t know which is more frightening…knowing that if I don’t pay my debts God is coming to exact payment from me, or knowing that I don’t have enough resources to pay the bill.     Both are true.

Let me get this straight….a man is invited to the wedding feast, but when he shows up they tie him up and throw him out?   Why him in the first place?

No wonder Judas was angry.   What Mary just did cost over $30k, and none of that money can be recovered.   And that money could have fed people who were hungry for quite a while.   But not now.   Thanks, Mary.

The crowd cheered, waved branches and even threw their coats on the ground for him to walk on.  But that’s only because they had no idea just how radically He really was.

So let me get this straight….the guy who doesn’t know Jesus is happy about Jesus, and all the godly people are mad at Jesus?   Doesn’t that seem backwards?    That’s because Jesus went here….

In some strange way, the people cheering in this passage remind me of our presidential elections.  We are absolutely positive who we want to rule…and we have no real idea who they really are.

If the same thing happened today, there would be rioting in the streets, the news would broadcast it continuously, and the leaders and politicians might even speak out against it…

Jesus was angry twice that we know of.  The first time He made a whip out of cords and started driving people out of the temple.   This is the other time.  You won’t believe what made Him mad.

Is Jesus trying to tell us that

we shouldn’t get married?

 

Probably one of the hardest things for me is to feel that God wants me to pray about something and then when I do, it doesn’t happen.  What’s up with that?
