King Solomon is planning a huge gathering of God’s people. All the important people are there. The heads of the Tribes, the elders of Israel, the chief leaders, all for a very special event.

I wonder while the workers were working on the temple if they truly understood the significance of the work that they were doing.

These chapters tell us about a great building project. – The building of the Temple. Building for me seems like such a rewarding experience, hard work, but rewarding in the end (if all goes well)..

Listen to wise people. Not necessarily smart people, or intelligent people.

If God guides the hearts of the king (leader) why then are there such terrible tyrants that have committed such horrible atrocities over the years?

How many times have we wondered if we are heading in the right direction? Ok, as a directionally challenged individual, I sometimes find myself heading in the wrong direction.

Momism. Have you ever heard of them? They are sayings that you heard your mother say. Things like,

Proverbs are filled with verses that contrast the righteous with the wicked. Can you pick out the contrasts that Solomon wrote about?

Have you ever learned a lesson by watching someone else make a mistake? In Proverbs 7:6-23, the author shares a life-lesson about a young man being persuaded by an adulteress, who apparently has no shame.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” (4:23). I like to reflect on this verse for today. In ancient times the heart was the seat of one’s emotions and when you infected your life with anger and impure thought, it would threaten your heart’s purity.
