Well, here we are the beginning of a new book of the bible. Lots of talk about counting people and organizing the way the “camp” would move. There is a whole lot of logistics going on here. I was trying to wrap my head around the number of people who would be traveling together.

Leviticus 26 – 27
(Monday)
One thing that really stood out for me in today’s reading was how many times God reminds us that He is God Alone. We must never look to any other God. That is why it is so important for us to not try to meld all the gods of this world into saying we are all worshipping the same god.

We begin our reading today looking at two very powerful and significant symbols of Christianity. The lamp (light) and the bread. These are both part of the “I Am” statements of Jesus. He said, I am the Light of the World (John 8:12) and I am the Bread of Life (John 6).

In our reading for today, we learn a lot about how to take care of the person with a skin disease. Some skin diseases were temporary and the person after a week or so could be pronounced “clean” and allowed to enter back into the community and worship.
