In 1 Kings chapters 11, we read about the end of Solomon’s reign. Solomon you may recall was King over all of Israel, but in the remaining chapters something very significant happens in the life of God’s chosen people.

Today, we finish reading proverbs. So after all that talk a couple of days ago about the drippy faucet and the nagging wife, proverbs ends with a very beautiful picture of a godly woman.

In our reading today, there is a little word that carries such great significance. Do you know what it is?

Well, as promised I think today’s reading was a bit more uplifting, because the message is clear. Found in 12:13, Solomon concludes that we should “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

Well if you are suffering from depression you will be soon. Ok without really studying this book, this can be a tough book to read. Written by King Solomon, he really knows how to bring the house down.

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads. Once again so many useful words of wisdom (I did not mean that to sound sarcastic, yet for some reason it does).  Proverbs is truly a book of little gems.

Oh yippy-skippy, more proverbs. I am so glad that my husband loves Proverbs because I struggle with them.

I absolutely love singing hymns of praise and what better way to end the book of Psalms than a song dedicated to praising God (Psalm 150).
