I noticed today in 16:4 of the New Living Translation that God orchestrated all of these events in order to test them.   As one of my instructors mentioned one day “you don’t like tests, but they are good for you”.

When I saw the names of the places that locate where Israel crossed the Red Sea I got all excited.  But there’s one small piece of information missing…

If God made Pharaoh’s heart hard, then how can He be upset with him?  Did God create a situation in which children would have to be killed?

Most of the 10 plagues are covered in today’s reading, and they are familiar.   But I just realized some things I didn’t know before…

Why is it that we question God, even when we are standing on holy ground, in front of a burning bush?   Why is it so hard for us to believe what God says?

Today we come across a real mystery.  A man with three different names….?

Father’s don’t pronounce blessings on their children anymore….listening to these blessings, maybe it’s a good thing…

…and the Government takes over.   Some things never change.

Rotting in prison, accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Simeon waits and prays that his brothers find a way to get him released.

This part of the story reminds me of one of the names for God…
