Judges 3 – 5, again
(Thursday)
Well, I guess you might have figured out by now that you are reading the same passage of scripture again. (An early April Fool’s joke – not likely.) Not sure how that happened but it explains to me now why we needed an extra day at the end of the year. So give yourself a break or maybe just open your bible to a random spot and see what God had planned for you today. Please feel free to share what ever God may have opened up for you.

The first judge we are introduced to is Othniel who is a nephew of Caleb. He is given the Spirit of the Lord in order to defeat the king of Aram and because of his obedience, Israel experienced 40 years of peace. The second judge was Ehud and he ruled for 80 years, he was also left handed, which will help him trick Eglon, king of the Moabites

Well, today, we begin another book of the Old Testament. This is Israel’s story of the Judges which span over 325 years. There were twelve in all, men and women. Heroes. Leaders who rescued Israel during hard times. Heroes that were far from perfect. But all of them willing to be used by God.

Joshua 22 – 24
Three (well actually two and a half) of the tribes of Israel are now ready to claim the land they wanted on the east side of the Jordan. You may remember they thought this land was suitable for their needs, but first they had to help the rest of the Israelites conquer the Promise Land.
