Friday
People who love us want to spare us from hardships and we feel the same for those we care about, but the truth is, we live in a harsh world and hardships will come our way. I am sure that Paul, like Jesus, would have prayed that he wouldn’t have to endure these trials, but the truth is so many people will benefit because of the actions Paul took to advance the message of salvation. Paul, had been chosen by Jesus, specifically for this task. God was able to work many miracles through Paul’s ministry and his willingness to go where the Holy Spirit directed. For Paul, there would be no doubt what lies ahead for him and I guess the saying “forewarned is forearmed” would apply. Spiritually, Paul was armed and ready for battle.
I believe there will come a time when our faith will be tested. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when, so the question I have for today, are you forearmed? Are you putting on your armor of God before you leave your home each day? How do you arm yourself with the armor of God? Read Ephesians 6:10-18
So the end of our reading today was a real cliffhanger… can’t wait to see what Paul says.
Peace and joy
