So have you ever wondered, am I causing someone to sin?

Are my actions bringing harm to another person, a child? That is a very powerful thought. We certainly don’t want to do that… but what if we are? It might be that we allow certain television programs into our homes, that are not appropriate… what about video games and the internet? What would Jesus have to say about His followers using bad language and gossiping about others? How far is our influence? What if we aren’t the cause but we remain quiet and allow harm to others take place?
 

Jesus warns us about God’s wrath against those who offend, abuse or lead astray the little ones. We ought to check ourselves and see what we might need to change about our own actions.

Jesus then goes on to talk about forgiveness and tells the disciples they must forgive seven times a day. When the disciples respond to Jesus to increase their faith, Jesus admonishes them that it is not increased faith they need, but rather the quality of their faith that makes the real difference. Maybe the question we need to ask is, “what is faith?” It seems like it should be an obvious answer… isn’t faith a total dependence upon God? A desire to do God’s Will? If faith is relying on God, then shouldn’t our need be… to be needier, more reliant on God, and not an increase in an attribute of ourselves? So Jesus points out to the disciples… look for a faith that is genuine, even if it is small… because looking to God is where our focus should always be.
